ASUS has long had one of the most option-filled BIOSes for their enthusiast motherboards, and really nobody out there matches them for that specifically in any way. It isn't just about overclocking options either, of which this board has plenty; it really has to do with how intelligent these BIOSes are and how much goes on behind the scenes when you just want to get in, get out, and get to playing games. ASUS makes it really easy even if you have some crazy high-speed memory that cost more than you're willing to admit (or you brag about profusely :P).

Yet I have to say this: What the.. !?! You'll find no less than 79 screen captures below for the options available, and to be honest, I did not exactly show every single one. I simply could not post 80 image out of a single BIOS. That's my limit; I refuse to cross it :P. Like who needs that many options? Am I spending decades in this BIOS tweaking everything under the sun or am I using this board for gaming? What's going on here?

Yes, I must admit that as a guy who likes to overclock memory, all these options are nice, and if you know what you are doing when it comes to really overclocking RAM, you will make use of a huge number of these. Not all of these, but well over half will be put to use. You can get away with using less to get some incredible results of course, since this BIOS is more than intelligent enough to do most of the work for you. If you're that guy (or gal) who is into running sub-zero around the clock or just on the weekend, the ASUS MAXIMUS IX FORMULA and its BIOS are ready and willing to do that too. So willing that the board is ready to push the limits to where things will die for sure if you aren't using those extreme cooling methods, if that's what you want. That USB BIOS Flashback button? It's not there for no reason, either. If you are going to push things, you WILL make use of it. All this stuff all over the place has a very specific purpose, and if you truly take overclocking seriously, you either know why already or need to buy this board to figure out why these things matter.
