Finished Looks
ASUS's ROG motherboards have taken on several different looks over time, and the current iteration we have here, the MAXIMUS IX FORMULA, really looks great when installed and up and running. All you need to do is mix this with some of G.Skill's RGB RAM and you have an extremely flashy rig. The ROG ARMOR really adds to this look, yet that's not all there is to it. ASUS has the ROG logo above the PCH cooler lit up in RBG colors, along with the end clips of the PCIe slots. The end clips are made out of clear plastic to help them glow so well, which I didn't notice until I powered the board up!
The ROG logo mid-board and the I/O cover have RGB highlights, as do the Power and RESET buttons just below the board's POST display in the upper-right corner.
If anything really highlights why you want to get all your components from the same brand when you build a PC, it's ASUS's ROG series. If you are into the whole RGB thing (which I must admit I kind of am), add in the aforementioned G.Skill RAM, a couple ROG STRIX VGAs, an RGB cooler, fans and PSU (yes, there are some with RGBs), and you've got one crazy lightshow coming out from the window in your case. I know not everyone is into this, but I have four kids and these kids have friends, and if anything catches all these kids' attention, it's all the flashy lights...
