At first glance, the RX 7700 XT TUF could be mistaken for an ASUS RTX 4060 Ti TUF, as it uses the same design language—which is a good thing. The cooler looks premium and muscular, it uses a large aluminium fin-stack heatsink that's ventilated by a trio of fans. The card certainly looks like it's from a segment above when installed in your case. On the back you'll get a high-quality metal backplate with cutout for air to flow through.

Dimensions of the card are 31.0 x 15.0 cm, and it weighs 1304 g.

Installation requires three slots in your system. The card's width is 59 mm.

Monitor Outputs, Display Connectors

Display connectivity includes three standard DisplayPort 2.1 ports (RDNA 2 had 1.4a) and one HDMI 2.1a (same as RDNA 2).

AMD has upgraded their encode/decode setup. It now comes with two independent hardware units that can encode and decode two streams of video in parallel, or one stream at double the FPS rate. There's support for VP9, H.264, H.265 and AV1 decode, and encoding is supported for H.264, H.265 and AV1.

All AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT designs use dual 8-pin PCIe power connectors.


Near the IO shield you'll find a switch that toggles between the default performance BIOS and a second BIOS that runs a more relaxed fan curve.

The fan assembly can be removed without disturbing the thermal pads or thermal paste. This makes it easy to clean the card, or replace the fans, should they break at one point. This is the exact same cooler as on the RX 7800 XT TUF.


The thermal solution on the AMD RX 7800 XT uses five heatpipes. The main heatsink also provides cooling for the memory chips and VRM circuitry.


The backplate is made of metal and protects the card against damage during installation and handling.
