Packaging

The front flap of the box can be opened, and you can peek inside through a plastic cover. There's quite a lot inside the box. We get the mouse, of course, and there are some accessories as well. There are two different cables, a guidebook, two Japanese-made Omron D2F-01F switches, and a thick metal ROG sticker. ASUS also provides a soft, padded pouch, so you can easily take your new addition with you anywhere, which is useful if you attend a lot of LAN events. As you can see, the cable is detachable (more on the provided cables later), but the mouse does not support wireless technology, so it will obviously not work if it is not plugged in.

Shape

The shape is right-handed ergonomic, and as far as I know, the shell has the exact same dimensions as the previous Gladius models. Comfort is entirely and absolutely intuitive, and it should be the top determining factor when you choose a new mouse. Many people don't take this seriously, but your joints will thank you over the long run, trust me. In my case, the Gladius II Origin was very comfortable. It has all the right curves and really is a pleasure to hold in my hands, which is rare since I am extremely picky about this. Both main buttons are grooved, giving your fingers even more comfort.

Since the shape is designed this way, it is mainly targeting palm grippers, but of course, the grip style is again totally up to you. You can use it with a claw or fingertip grip as well, depending on your hand's size and personal preference.

Length-wise, we're talking about a long rodent, 126 mm (4.96") to be exact. Even though the official specification says the mouse to be 67 mm (2.64") wide, that is not really the case as that is the widest part, which is more towards the back of the Gladius II Origin. The actual grip's width is more around 58 mm (2.28"), depending on where do you place your fingers, of course. The height is 45 mm (1.77") at the tallest part, and this hump is located at the center of the shell.

Comparisons

Here are some shape/size comparisons with other mice:

Logitech MX500 (same shell as the MX510, MX518, G400, and G400s)

Dream Machines DM1 Pro S

CM MasterMouse MM530 (same shell as the Alcor and Mizar)

Razer DeathAdder
