The ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial is the ultimate Z590 board. With WiFi 6E, 10 Gb/s LAN, five m.2 slots, Thunderbolt 4, a massive water block, and every accessory ASUS could fit into the rather large box, the Extreme Glacial has literally every feature box checked. When it comes to looks, the ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial is a gorgeous silver design that is perfect for any nickel-based water cooling build and features a top-tier RGB implementation to go with it.

Out of the box performance was excellent for the ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial. Memory overclocking was top-tier as well, as I reached 4000 MHz CL16 stable with my Trident Z Neo kit for both my 10th and 11th Gen samples. For CPU overclocking, I was able to achieve 5.2 GHz on all cores on both my i9-10900K and i9-11900K. VRM thermals were top-tier as well, barely exceeding 31 °C even during my VRM torture testing.

The ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial has it all with top of the line features and excellent aesthetics, performance, and overclocking. The Glacial is extreme in every way, including price. At almost US$1500, the ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial is astronomically expensive for a motherboard, designed as a technical showcase for what an ASUS motherboard can be.

If you have deep pockets and want the best of the best with no compromise, the ASUS ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial is unquestionably the board for you.
