Fan Control and Options

Fan TypeRangeInterval
CPU Fan0 ... 1001%
System Fan0 ... 1001%
Fan speed is controlled by temperature, actual minimums dependent on fan ability.

ASUS has two fan controllers which is strange to see. Presumably one is for fan headers related to watercooling while the other communicates the the external fan controller and onboard headers for system fans. This is of course speculation on my part of what a second controller is used for. Maybe someone can shed light on this mysterious second fan controller

Fan control on the ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme Glacial can be accessed in the BIOS. ASUS does have fan-controlling software built into Armoury Crate as well

In one corner of the Extreme Glacial ASUS has placed related watercooling headers in one area into a system called ASUS Hydranode. These headers are not necessary for the motherboard to operate fans in general, but external sensor data will be limited. Unfortunately, no additional ASUS Hydranode information can be found in the manual. From the information gathered, the ASUS Hydranode system uses special fans that may be already discontinued. It is unclear what ASUS Hydranode actually provides the user at this point. As it stands each header will act like a normal PWM fan header and should be treated as such.
