BIOS Walkthrough

ASUS' new Z97 BIOS is one of the most intuitive I've seen yet. Considering the usage model and cooling used, the easy overclock uses several pre-defined profiles to help you get the most out of your system. Be aware of the fact that no actual testing is done by the BIOS itself as it will only enable XMP profiles and set commonly reachable clocks for the hardware you installed.

All the choices made, these automatic tuning options let you know how much higher the clocks will be set (although a calculator and some math might be required), warning you that something will have gone wrong if the system doesn't boot. Fan control can be set up just as easily, with a bit of magic which tests each fan's required start-up voltage and its minimum and maximum RPM, so it can fully disable a fan for as long as it isn't needed to keep your system both fast and cool.
