As I mentioned in the FM 850 review, this is the best HEC platform I have had my hands on so far. I am sure be quiet!'s guidance played a big role in HEC putting together such a competitive platform. It might not be up to Corsair RM1000x levels, but the latter is more expensive. The Corsair RM1000x offers better overall performance and double the warranty period since it uses a better fan and caps. We need more choice from new players in the high-end market, so I agree with be quiet! going with a lesser-known OEM for this price bracket. That said, competition is tough, so an even lower price point for the Pure Power 11 FM 1000 could result in considerably more sales.

If it were up to me, I would replace the Teapo SC caps with higher-quality ones to then relax the fan-speed profile. Increasing the warranty from five to ten years is more of a marketing trick than an actual benefit, so I would mess with the warranty if it would help keep pricing low. Buy a car and you get less than five years, so offering ten years is insane and could create problems down the road. Just imagine having thousands of RMAs during the ninth year because of fan failures.

The be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM 1000 W is a solid PSU, especially since it managed to survive all of my tough tests, and with a street price close to $140 in the US, it will do well there. At €142, its street price in Europe is below the €155 mark, with the Corsair RM1000x costing around €30 more, which makes the be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM 1000 W great for users on a budget, but in need of a strong PSU. I would pay an additional €5–10 (or US dollars) for better capacitors, though. I am not at all fond of the Teapo SC caps.
