VRM Specifications
Power Design: Vcore: 6-phase
SOC: doubled 1-phase
Doublers:ISL6617A
CPU PWM:Renesas RAA 229004 (X + Y = 8)
Power Stages: Vcore: Intersil ISL99390 (90 A)
SOC: Intersil ISL99390 (90 A)

The BIOSTAR B550GTQ features a 10-phase VRM configuration using ISL6617A doublers to split the two SOC phases across four power stages. This configuration is unusual, as most designs opt to only dedicate to stages to the SOC.

BIOSTAR is using the Renesas RAA 229004 PWM controller to drive the B550GTQ. Doublers are used to split the signal for the four SOC power stages.

The BIOSTAR B550GTQ uses Intersil ISL99390 power stages for all ten stages. There are six stages for the Vcore and four stages for the SOC.

These power stages each support a maximum of 90 A of continuous current. This configuration should prove interesting for overclocking and thermal testing.

The BIOSTAR B550GTQ has a maximum output of 900 A, with 540 A dedicated to Vcore.
