A Closer Look - Inside

Simply remove the pair of thumbscrews holding each side-panel in place to gain access to the interior. BitFenix has lined them with a material they call Serenitek. It is a fairly thin material, but similar to that of the special dampening sheets used by Caseking. The insides of the Ghost are all black, and arranged in a traditional manner. There is a large opening under the CPU area, with around 20-22 mm room for cables to be routed behind the motherboard tray.

In the front, none of the bays are completely removable. Instead, BitFenix has chosen to make the top half of the HDD bays only fit 2.5" drives while retaining the ability to remove the side of that cage, effectively extending the maximum length of graphic cards this chassis can hold from 330 mm to 410 mm. Four 3.5" drives and three 2.5" drives may, at most, be fitted here, with the option of placing 2.5" variants in the larger bays. The three external 5.25" bays above the HDD cages offer screw-less locking mechanisms for easy assembly.

Turning our focus to the rear, the PSU bay is nothing out of the ordinary with four little bumps to hold the unit in place. Above that are the seven motherboard expansion slots, which, interestingly enough, do not come with screws. It seems like they are pinned into place without any additional parts. While some may worry that one of these could come loose and damage the system during transport, none of the covers were out of place, even though the case shipped all the way to Germany from the Factory in China. Thus, I see no reason for concern. In the very top is the second 120 mm fan, which pushes air out the back of the case.

All the cables within the Ghost are of the standard variety, but BitFenix has ensured that they are mostly black. To connect the hot-swap port, you will have a SATA data and SATA power connector, while the I/O is of the usual kind as well. The only exception here is the USB 3.0 connector, which also has a USB 2.0 plug for utmost flexibility.
