The Cooler Master Masterbox MB311L ARGB clearly takes the same sturdy chassis we have seen in the Masterbox NR400 to design one that is interesting to the mATX gamer and enthusiast without breaking the bank. For the same price, you get two ARGB fans and the same IO and internal layout. That means the Masterbox MB311L ARGB is just as great for both your liquid and air-cooling options, while providing plenty of room for long GPUs as well. On top of that, cable management is a breeze, and the HDD assembly is tool-less, which really makes for a good building experience.
You also get an in-line ARGB controller, which pairs well with the pre-installed 3-to-1 splitter, as it allows you to utilize the lighting even if you do not use or lack the option of motherboard control, and with the ability to re-purpose the reset button, switching through plenty of modes is seamless as well.
What bothers me a bit is that Cooler Master has cut a few corners with the MB311L ARGB in comparison to the NR400, and unfortunately, they are somewhat noticeable. The basic mounting of the glass side panels with four screws is certainly the most obvious, while the limited sets for two 2.5" drives with four available slots makes no sense at all. I am not sure if the addition of ARGB and the respective controller justify these cost-saving measures, but at $60 dollars, the Cooler Masterbox MB311L ARGB still is a very good buy for those wanting a compact mATX chassis with a bit of flash and lighting regardless.
