Packaging

The MM830 comes in a standard-shaped mouse box. It has a magnetically closed flap to a window on the front and a gray-purple color scheme with the usual render pictures and technical specifications printed on. After opening the box, you can access the mouse, as well as a quick-start guide. There are no other accessories, which means there are no replacement mouse feet—quite a shame at this price point, if you ask me.

Shape

Exotic was the first word that came to mind after taking a first glance at the MasterMouse MM830. It's definitely not your average-looking gaming mouse. It looked very big at first, but turned out to fit nicely into my 18x9 cm hands with a palm grip. It has a bulky, high-profile design, but is also rather narrow, which means it really does look enormous, but will mostly be comfortably usable with medium-sized hands. Of course, these are just rough guidelines and shouldn't be taken for granted—it's best if you try it out yourself.

There is a thumb ledge on the left side, but no ring or pinky finger rest on the right, which could fill in a huge market gap (although some people would definitely dislike it). The mouse features concave grooves on both sides to help maintain a stable grip in tense situations, or while picked up. There are also slight comfort grooves on the main buttons.

Let's move on to the measurements: the MM830 is 130.1 mm (5.12") long, which makes this mouse rather long. The total width is 82.2 mm (3.24"), which may sound like a lot, but includes the wide thumbrest as well. The actual width at which it is gripped is approximately 58 mm (2.28"). The total height is 43.4 mm (1.71"), and the hump is almost centered, leaning towards the back a bit. With these dimensions, the MM830 will mainly fit palm grippers with averagely sized hands, which I'd say is about 17-19 cm (6.7" to 7.5"). Once again, these are just basic guidelines as everyone is different; we have different preferences—you have to try a mouse out to be sure.
