Packaging

CoolIT Systems sent us the cooler in a neutral white cardboard box. A little label mentions what is to be found inside, but in our case, the sticker is intended for the ATI/AMD version. Considering that CoolIT Systems does most of its business through OEMs, especially when it comes to VGA cooling, the bland packaging is not such a big surprise. Their CPU coolers on the other hand are packed in a very informative and colorful box instead. Within the sturdy cardboard box is a thick Styrofoam rectangle, with cutouts for the separate parts. The little hole up top holds the separate bags of screws, covered by a very detailed, full color manual.

The entire cooling system does make a fairly solid impression and is quite heavy. The metal of the chassis is not quite as thick as I had hoped for, but is still strong enough. As you can see the entire unit comes sealed and already filled, right out of the box. This makes it interesting for users, who do not want to fiddle around with separate parts and those who are worried about a leaking system. The entire system sells for $275 dollars. While this seems like a lot, buying separate water cooling blocks with a radiator, pump and tubing should set you back just as much.

The screws are sorted and labeled. This should make installation easy and painless. While the variety of screws may seem like you have a lot of work ahead of you, this is not the case. The only separate parts are the passive heatsinks for the voltage regulators.
