Corsair has done a phenomenal job with the Hydro Series H80i GT. This revamp of the H80i not only offers extreme cooling performance, but also properly integrates Corsair Link support, which gives users near-complete control over the unit, from its performance profiles to the color options of the LEDs inside the pump's housing. Much like other all-in-one liquid coolers, it also offers perfect memory clearance, which is always nice. It doesn't hurt that the H80i GT is of good build quality and comes with some quality fans. Overall, the unit itself is a great surprise all things considered since it performs so very well for a single 120 mm radiator. The H80i's great warranty and ease of installation further add to its appeal.

A few problems do present themselves. While the H80i GT does offer exceptional performance that is on par with high-end air coolers, it does so while being extremely loud as its fans top out at 56 dBA. Add to that its high price of $99.99 and you end up with an all-in-one liquid cooler that, while exceptional in many ways, is slightly more expensive and far louder than traditional high-end air coolers. While these are not make-or-break issues, they are food for thought. Like all Corsair Hydro Series products, the H80i GT is obviously not expandable unless you are willing to void the warranty for some heavy modification. Finally, the new tubing looks great, but is now much much stiffer, which may make installing or maneuvering the cooler into place on small form-factor systems a bit more difficult.

Overall, I think Corsair has done a great job with the Hydro Series H80i GT. With new features and design elements that make it stand out even further in the crowded AIO market, it is a great upgrade from the H80i. However, I am sad to see the swivel fittings go because they made routing the tubing easier, and while the new tubing looks stellar, it is much stiffer, which I found to be quite the nuisance when taking photos. On top of that, while the Corsair Link software is nifty, I also found it unnecessary. The only thing I really needed it for was to change the color of the pump's LEDs. Still, the H80i GT is a solid cooler that does a great job, personal nit picks aside.

The Corsair Hydro Series H80i GT is certainly impressive when it comes to performance, style, and quality. You just might want to keep the fans at around 1500 RPM if you want to keep noise levels in check.
