Installation

To install the cooler on AMD's Socket AM5, you first need to remove the pre-installed Intel mounting brackets and replace them with the AMD-specific brackets. Next, remove the plastic AMD motherboard brackets and secure the proper standoffs to the AMD backplate.

The unit does come with thermal paste pre-applied; however, if you want to use your own favorite TIM, remove the included material and then apply your own before mounting the pump block to the CPU with the four thumb nuts, alternating in a criss-cross pattern for even pressure.

Since the fans come pre-mounted, it's a quick job to mount the radiator and fans to the chassis. After that, all that remains is connecting the QX120 RGB fans to the iCUE LINK passthrough via an included cable and then connect everything to the iCUE LINK system hub. Once complete connect the hub to the system via USB motherboard header using the included cable.

Overall, the installation is pretty straightforward on AMD and Intel, with no major hurdles or headache-inducing design choices.
