DeepCool AK620 CPU Cooler
Packaging and Contents
DeepCool also provided us with their recently launched AK620 air cooler. It is a fairly compact, dual-fan 120 mm tower cooler and ships in the same style of generic brown box with a sleeve to let you know what is actually inside. The cooler comes fully assembled with both fans installed, which is a nice touch.
You will receive mounting hardware for all modern sockets, but as this unit launched before LGA1700 was released, it will ship with the appropriate mounting kit in the future. You may also request the mounting kit from DeepCool for free if needed. On top of that, there is a simple screw driver to mount the cooler easily, as well as a small tube of thermal paste. Lastly, a fan header splitter cable allows you to connect both fans to a single motherboard CPU fan header.
A Closer Look
The DeepCool AK620 is a compact, clean cooler lacking any ARGB lighting. While the two towers seem to be symmetrical, with the heatpipes and plate at the center, fan placement makes it asymmetrical.
Both fin stacks of the cooler are capped with stylish, subtly branded covers, and the underside brings together six U-shaped, nickel-plated heatpipes.
Both fans accompanying the cooler are PWM based and basically square blocks. They both also feature the new DeepCool branding, and its corners are rubberized as an anti-vibration measure.
Small arrows made up of squares let you know in which direction the blades rotate and air is pushed, which ensures the fans are installed correctly.
Installation
The mounting hardware of the AK620 is solid and follows the same procedure as most modern coolers. Once the backplate, spacer screws, and cross beams are in place, you may simply screw down the cooler. Interestingly enough, you actually have to remove the middle fan and thus undo some of the work someone at the factory has done to mount the cooler using the provided tool. Once secured, simply pop the fan back in place and connect both fans to the motherboard.
