Well, well, well. The EK-Quantum Surface P360M didn't make my first round of reviews for EK's new radiator lineup owing to limited time on my end then, and I ended up going with the two extremes in the thickness department. Those two (the S360 at 30 mm thickness and X360M at 58 mm thickness) were both impressive courtesy some clever use of added space in the other two dimensions and also thicker tubes + logical fin stacks, with the thinner S360 being class-topping as seen on the previous page. The X360M was also very good, but relatively I felt it was facing tougher competition and the new design benefits were being reaped more by the thinner radiator. Clearly I had to put that to the test with the P360M that slots right between the two at 44 mm in thickness, and I dare say that I would rather people purchase this at $130 than the X360M at $150—the extra 14 mm comes in handy too with thicker fans as need be, or simply more room for wiring inside a case. The EK X360M lucked out with its recommendation earlier, and I'll still stick by it, but the trend continues in terms of the EK-Quantum Surface S lineup being the most impressive, followed by the P, and then the X.
Either way we have three winners in a row now from EK when it comes to radiators, and this was a market segment the company was really not known for until now. Sure, the EK-Coolstream lineup did fine but I would have recommended multiple different options for the money and use case. This time round, and especially in the increasingly rare 45-mm thickness class, the new EK-Quantum Surface P360M more than merits a recommendation for competing strongly against—and even besting some—thicker 60-mm class radiators too. It's also better built than most others, or at least feels like it from the outside owing to the thick anodized aluminium end plate covers, but I have to wonder whether we could have perhaps achieved the same cooling and flow restriction at a lower cost with a simpler design. Still, given the ongoing interest from customers and EK struggling to keep up with demand, this thing is clearly selling well enough—just that this time the retail success is merited.
