When it comes to closed-loop coolers, most radiators remain fairly similar. While Fractal Design has gone with an aluminium 280 mm unit, that is true here as well. The fin spacing, or fins-per-inch (FPI), is also similar to most all-in-one liquid coolers at 21 FPI. This means typically higher speed or higher static pressure fans are required to make the most of the provided cooling surface. The fittings are a step backwards from the G1/4" fittings on the older Celsius models as these can't be modified as easily. Still, those looking to change out tubing or fittings are typically a minority, so while I am sad to see them go, it is understandable.
The pump is not quite as wide as it was before, instead featuring a tapered design that is smaller at the top and with tempered glass to show off the illuminated logo, which is surrounded by an ARGB ring for further visual flair. In regards to the coolant inlet and outlet, both utilize swivel fittings, which are always nice as they allow for better tubing placement inside the chassis. It is also worth noting that the Auto/PWM switch remains a feature here, and like the previous design, this Celsius+ unit simply requires a slight twist to switch between the two. The Auto selection seeks to limit pump noise while still maximizing performance. Meanwhile, PWM mode gives users complete control.
Fractal Design has paired the Celsius S28+ Prisma with its Prisma series of fans. In this case, two Prisma AL-14 PWM ARGB fans. These fans have a wide PWM range of 500–1700 and an airflow of 103.9 CFM.
