The Gelaskin can be considered one of the highest quality skins for your device on the market today. It uses very durable 3M material as a base. The images printed on the skin are glossy and certainly look very good and sharp. Even though there is a little noise in the image itself, nobody will ever look at it so close, for it to be noticable. In our case it does protect the back of the iPhone perfectly, so you may even place it on a rough surface, without having to worry about scratches, something the unit is prone to right out of the box. It will however, not protect it against drops, as the edges are not covered by the skin. The overall fit is perfect, with a perfectly sized hole for the camera and a little indent under the ear phone connector. Overall the roughly $15 should pay for itself, as it does raise the resale value of the phone at a later point, as it won't have as many scratches and blemishes on the back.
