Packaging and Contents

Similarly to other X870E motherboards we've reviewed so far, the accessory set isn't extensive or exciting. You get the essentials such as a Wi-Fi antenna with WI-FI EZ-Plug, SATA cables, two thermistor cables plus additional M.2 thermal pads. The latter should be used with single-sided SSDs, so the lower pad is able to make contact with the underside of the SSD. Out of the box it's positioned to work with double-sided SSDs.


Also in the box is a DDR Wind Blade fan. This is designed to cool the memory modules, but could easily be positioned elsewhere perhaps to aid VRM or M.2 cooling. It is powered and controlled from a 3-pin fan header.
