The BIOS for the Gigabyte Z87X-OC is of a brand-new and fresh design that truly surprised me when I first booted the board up. There were some obvious clocking options at the forefront, but a few other things didn't quite make sense because they seemed out of place, as Gigabyte provides users with several "pages" within the BIOS options can be moved to, creating the opportunity to put together a true custom BIOS. The "stock" BIOS options do remain in the usual places of past Gigabyte UEFI implementations, which makes clocking as easy as could be once I discovered where they were. The ability to put what options you want first struck me as great for when it comes time to overclock because it provides an easy way for you to track just a few settings you might be tweaking while taking all the others out of sight. Add in the monitoring information that surrounds the outside of the screen and the BIOS's ability to match the resolution of the monitor you use and you have a crisp, responsive interface, something users asked for in the past. Gigabyte has come a long way here, and it really does show.
Another added feature I want to point out is the ability to update the Z87X-OC's BIOS directly from the internet. This simplifies things so much when it comes time to update the BIOS, and although I have seen it once or twice before, it's something I think all boards need to add, and quickly.
