Value and Conclusion

  • The Hiper Anubis has a MSRP of 179€, $199 US Dollars or 95 UK Pounds, but you will find it a tad cheaper in the retail channel. This is quite appropriate for a case like this.
  • Incredibly sturdy
  • Very nicely designed door
  • Simple but effective interior
  • Very nicely organised contents
  • Total expandability - 9 drive bays
  • Thumb screws everywhere
  • Hard drive cage removable
  • Actively cooled hard drive cage
  • Appropriate EMI shielding with metal mesh side
  • Side panels can be removed easily
  • More than enough screws included
  • Plaque with serial number
  • Very informative packaging
  • Fan on the hard drive cage looks quite out of place
  • Only one fan included
  • Expansion brackets need to be broken out for use
  • No removable mainboard tray
Hiper has focused on simple but effective aspects with the Anubis. There are no fancy screw-less systems or an out of the ordinary interior design. The company has focused on build quality and overall design. The result is a very elaborate front door, combined with rock solid features. Every drive is secured with thumb screws, as is the power supply. All this quality makes you wonder why the Anubis has break out covers for the expansion slots.
Another big "why?" is the very out of place, clearly visible 120 mm fan for the hard drive cage. It is good that the chassis has such a nice front door, to cover it up. What is left is a very solid case, beautiful looks as long as it is closed and very traditional but comfortable assembly.
