3D Performance is where people live and breathe real-world performance. This is what marketing CPUs is all about, alongside the equivalent synthetic 3D-rendering tests. I gamed for nearly 24 hours straight to ensure the frame rates given here and ran 3D Mark 11 on a graphics loop—while an overall score is not produced, a GPU value is provided once you exit 3D Mark 11.
As for the graphics solution—I used the EVGA GTX 980 with EVGA's ACX 2.0 cooler. The ACX 2.0 is a 6-slot, 3-phase motor that greatly improves efficiency as compared to the ACX 1.0, which definitely puts thermal issues to rest. The card performed admirably, and I absolutely love the cooler's configuration for this card.
