Value & Conclusion »

There are essentially three main ways to charge the Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro. The primary being through your classic AC wall outlet. With this method, you are able to charge the unit fully in less than two hours as it manages to pull around 1500 watts. The second is by using solar panels where the charging speed and capacity depends on the panels used. With the two 100 watt units you can get around 160 to 180 watts under ideal conditions with bright sunlight. Naturally if you go for larger panels, that input charge is also increased. The Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro can handle up to 12 100 watt units, for a total of 1200 watts of solar powered input.

As the Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro is not your mainstream unit, if you go for casual camping trips or just want something to power your day at the beach, the Explorer 2000 Pro is quite literally overkill. For those scenarios, Jackery offers a wide range, more compact and portable variants which are just as good. For the Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro, the core use case is more professional or extreme. Those who take their journey off-grid, say in an RV or Camper Van and require reliance on a quality power source that goes beyond providing power to luxuries like a laptop or water boiler for your evening tea. The unit, with the Pro moniker is meant to allow you to power core essentials necessary to your daily life whatever the scenario without access to a traditional plug in the wall. This could be your fridge on the road to ensure your food doesn't spoil or the fact that you can detach your electricity needs from the source that is built-into your vehicle to ensure it doesn't drain. The other use case is essentially for professionals that arrive at job sites where there is no electrical infrastructure yet.

We used the Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro on a major home renovations construction site. This 1949 home was torn down to the studs with the original electrical system completely removed before the remodel. As such, all trades from carpentry, siding experts, window installers and plumbers required access to power throughout the 8-10 hour work days. The Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro was the go to source of electricity on the job site For weeks, it managed to deliver more than enough capacity and power for a variety of high-power saws of all shapes and sizes as well as more compact charging docks for drill and portable tool batteries. All this with plenty of room to spare. We even tried a different brand & smaller unit in comparison, which quickly hit the limit of its capacity or ability to provide enough power to multiple power tools at the same time.

We charged the Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro off-site every evening quickly and easily. But, even during the days it was on the site, the solar panels provided enough additional charge to offer enough of a boost to allow for work across a full weekend. With all the dust, bumping, multiple pushes that tickled the units AC output limit, the Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro always managed to deliver the needed consistency.
