The Kingston DataTraveler HyperX carries the enthusiast sub brand for a reason. It manages to rocket up, up and away in terms of read speeds, rivaling SATA-II SSD performance and making excellent use of the USB 3.0 interface. But the drive is no slouch when it comes to write speeds. While being beaten by drives based on SLC memory, the DataTraveler HyperX still roars along with up to 135 MB/s and an excellent average of 107 MB/s. Such performance also justifies the above average 256GB maximum capacity, since that is the perfect size for such fast read and write speeds. Bulkiness aside, the DataTraveler HyperX USB 3.0 drive is a pieces of hardware that manages to impress.
