Acoustics
Fan Noise and Thermals (Subjective)
The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro has been purposefully designed to produce minimal fan noise in variable workloads, this definitely holds true under the default fan curve. What I found interesting is that at idle, the fans slowly, with airflow barely a whisper in the background. Under load, fan noise remains minimal thanks to the all-metal chassis design and low overall power usage, even under high load, fan noise was truly some of the quietest - speaking well regarding the chassis cooling design. With a 150 W capable GPU under the hood, and the CPU consuming an average 45 W, we've have just shy of 200 W of cooling capacity here in this thin chassis.
Subjective Audio Quality
While using the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, I had the volume set to 25–30% most commonly, leaving huge capability in the speakers for louder environments. The angled design pushes the audio with decent clarity, but there was a lack of bass extension, common for most laptops.
Combining the Two
With fan noise at a minimum and audio that is more than capable for most uses, what the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro brings to the table helps it stand out, when compared to other, much louder laptops. Some laptops sound like jet engines at high loads, while the Legion 5 Pro managed to keep overall noise levels very low, relatively.
