A Closer Look - Inside

To gain access to the interior, simply remove the thumb screws holding each panel in place. Lian Li has kept the interior of the Lancool One quite traditional by modern standards, which is certainly not a bad thing.

There is a metal shroud on the bottom to hide the PSU and 3.5" drive bays. You will find two plastic, magnet-equipped mounting plates for SSDs here, underneath of which is an air vent with mounting holes for two 120 mm fans. A small plate in the front of the chassis closes the gap you will need if you install a thin 360 mm radiator with the appropriate fans here.

On the other side, behind the motherboard tray, are four SSD placement possibilities. Lian Li includes two mounting plates you may move to the front of the case if you want. A small PCB has also been installed, which controls the addressable RGB elements. If you look closely, you can see the motherboard power/HDD LED cables right next to it. You will have to peel the two cables away from the rest to route them to the board properly. Velcro strips allow for clean cable management right out of the box.

There is only around 15 mm of space towards the rear of the chassis, but thanks to a slight bend in the motherboard tray, you get well over 20 mm towards the front, which is more than enough, especially as the side panel is shaped such that it results in a few additional millimeters.

In the front, underneath the shroud, you will find a basic HDD cage that officially allows you to add two 3.5" drives to the chassis. You may move the cage to make room for a radiator should it extend past the shroud. Above that is nothing but space for fans or radiators.

The PSU bay in the rear is pretty standard and comes with foam bits as an anti-vibration measure. Above that are the nine expansion slots. Turns out that the vertical ones come with a clip-on plastic cover, while the horizontal slots are filled with reusable metal variants which are secured with thumb screws. In the very top is a 120 mm fan with white blades and a 3-pin header, set to push air out the back of the Lancool One.

In the ceiling, you can clearly see that the mounting possibilities for the fans or radiator are as far away from the motherboard as possible, so you don't have to worry about interference from any heatsinks or board components.

All the cables within the Lancool One are sleeved black and of the default variety for their respective ports. A SATA power connector is used to supply the LED controller with juice straight from the PSU.
