If you have seen too many RGB-equipped cases out there, you become weary when reading that an enclosure has jumped on that bandwagon. Thus, when I read about the Lian Li Lancool One Digital offering such a component, it worried me initially as the case holds great importance by being the first Lancool case in a very long time. Luckily, Lian Li has done an excellent job at designing and embedding the LEDs in a fashion that adds to the case instead of detracting from it.

That said, the Lancool One Digital also feels sturdy even though Lian Li has chosen to go with a very traditional material mix by modern standards, consisting of a steel body, glass side panel, and plastic top and front. Even without considering the thick brushed aluminium front, the Lancool One Digital makes a sturdy impression.

In terms of features, don't expect the case to reinvent the wheel. However, most of them are well executed with four 2.5" mounting possibilities, plenty of liquid cooling space, and a metal shroud alongside some well-placed Velcro strips. Lian Li has also included the RGB controller which may be synced with the rest of the system via a USB cable. There are a few choices, however, that may elicit a quiet "why?" by some. These includes the basic 3.5" cage and - from a purely visual standpoint - the black and white expansion-slot covers.

Neither of those elements, nor the for some too modern USB-C connector, should deter anyone from the Lancool One Digital as it is a spiffy chassis at a good price point.
