Lian Li PC-A12 Review

Value and Conclusion

  • The Lian Li PC-A12 sells for about 140 USD.
  • Quality
  • Strong
  • Looks
  • HDD rack can be turned 90°
  • 3.5" drive bays
  • Lockable
  • Takes finger prints which are hard to get rid of
  • Finish can scratch fairly easily
  • Motherboard tray not removable
  • Only marginally cheaper to other, more featured Lian Li cases
As always Lian Li has produced a very high quality case. I see the PC-A12 as more of a budget case where it does not have as many thumbs screws - as the PC-A16 for example -, it doesn't have as many fans, and the motherboard tray is not removable. However the layout of the case is very well done. It has lots of room to work with, it has 3.5" external bays, and the quality is superb, just like on any other Lian Li product. The case has a very clean look to it, but still has a little "bling" with the front lighting. The finish of the case takes fingers prints very easily, which are extremely difficult to clean up. Also considering the price of this case compared to the 150 USD PC-A16, it lacks a lot of the features for only ten dollars less. The lockable front is a very nice feature though, and can be of benefit to some users. All in all, it is still a very nice case, and would be a great choice for anyone looking for a quality mid-size tower.
