Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 - 2x 8-Pin PCIe

Packaging and Contents

Lastly, at the same length, the much more mainstream dual 8-pin PCIe cable ships in the same-sized package as the triple variant.

You get exactly the same content with this SKU, but tailored to this extension cable's fewer wires and smaller connectors. Once again, a manual and marketing pamphlet have been placed inside the box.

A Closer Look

The dual 8-Pin Strimer Plus V2 cable eliminates one cable group for a total of 16 wires. 300 mm long, it also comes with two clear plastic clips to hold these two together firmly.

Having fewer wires, the proprietary connector is the smallest of the bunch, and as such has its own dedicated plug on the ARGB controller. You may also directly connect it to the motherboard, but it looks like you won't have to worry about power draw with just the two cable groups as there is no warning or CR code on this adapter cable.

Just as with the other PCIe cable, this variant has one wide cap at the end for the wire leading into the ARGB channels and separate clips for the end going into the GPU.

Since this is just a cut down version of the triple 8-pin cable, the housing clips are of the same design, size, and shape. Switching from black to white is done in exactly the same way, once again using the guiding pins.
