Lian Li has come a long way from the original bulky "Strimer" with its single LEDs per lighting strip and fiber optic style channel from the base. The Strimer Plus V1 was the first product that made real, proper use of the real-estate the bulky ATX and PCIe power cables provide—it truly managed to give ARGB enthusiasts one more way to light up their systems properly. But even so, those extension cables were still rather bulky, with the lighting layer noticeably detached from the rest, which still felt more like an addon to a power cable than a single, cohesive product.

This fundamentally changes with the Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 series which has been engineered with a custom single-layer power element onto which Lian Li placed groups of thinner ARGB strips. This does not only make the whole cable more compact overall, but finally has it feel like a product that wasn't clobbered together. As an added benefit, thanks to the slimmer design, bending radius and flexibility of the Strimer Plus V2 cables are far better than that of the original V1 variants as well.

Considering the cost of these, Lian Li has priced them such that it doesn't break the bank while not making them a steal, either. Custom PSU wiring you can buy from various aftermarket providers is pretty expensive too, so if you'd rather opt for this instead, you won't feel any noticeable additional hurt to your wallet. And while the software may have its quirks and bugs, it is designed well, runs smoothly, and still allows total, functional control over the Strimer Plus V2 cables. With all of this in mind, we can give the Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 series our Innovation award for being a unique product that is a joy to use for any ARGB enthusiast out there.
