Mionix has succeeded in designing a very capable multiple-grip mouse with the Castor. It is not perfect across the board, but is not locked to one specific style, which is a great feat. Much like the Avior and Naos 7000, the new Castor tracks brilliantly due to its IR LED sensor with zero acceleration.

This mouse is definitely one of the best out there for those with small-to-medium sized hands. Our Castor has been in the hands of a few people, and while all enjoy it, its physical size can be somewhat of a limit. Those who prefer larger mice like the Microsoft IME 3.0 will feel a bit cramped on the Castor. Coming from the Avior 7000 to the Castor, the transition was pretty smooth, but you immediately feel the slight difference in size and where the volume has been placed.

Overall, the mouse performs brilliantly, and while the 10000 DPI thing can be chalked down to marketing, the sensor is the real deal due to its consistent tracking and complete lack of acceleration-related issues. Like other IR sensors, it is color sensitive, so you want to take special care when selecting a mat for the Castor.
