Just like with the Montech Air 903 Max, the Base variant is really priced to impress. At a mere $65 dollars, you still get all the same core functionality of the body and only really sacrifice one fan as well as the ARGB feature. That said, Montech doesn't make the choice easy for you as the Max variant with all the bells and whistles sells for a mere $10 more. As such, many of you will likely be enticed to just grab that one, turn off the ARGB and get the same aesthetics as the base model but with four 140 mm fans right out of the box.
Taking a closer look at the exterior features, Montech manages to drive a clean, universal design language that provides function over form with clean lines, some nice details and all the usual features we come to expect from airflow cases that usually sit at a much higher price bracket.
On the interior, the Air 903 Base delivers on all fronts in terms of storage capabilities, lots of room for large and powerful components alongside solid cable management. The only aspect that could be improved would the inclusion of grommets on all openings to really make for the cleanest final build possible - especially if you opt not to have an AIO in the ceiling to hide the cutouts above the motherboard. In other words, those using air coolers will have a hard time keeping wires away from view in that part of the Air 903 Base.
But again, keep in mind you get all this case for a very competitive price, including three 140 mm fans and that same well constructed, functional body as the 903 Max. So overall, if every dollar counts, even at these low MSRPs, the Montech Air 903 Base also deserves an Editor's Choice. While not quite the crazy steal compared to the just $10 more expensive, four fan, ARGB equipped Air 903 Max variant, it still remains immensly affordable compared to the rest of the competitiors in the market.
