With the wild pricing fluctuations due to supply chain, tariffs and shipping cost issues in the past few years, it has become increasingly difficult to find affordable, yet functional cases. Montech managed to do so with the Air 1000 Lite, which sells for just as much as the Sky One Lite in this review. That makes a lot of sense, as both enclosure share the same body. Montech has essentially taken the front of the Sky One, slapped it unto the body of the Air 1000 Lite and then tweaked several aspects in the users favor.
At $70, the Sky One Lite manages to offer a lot which we usually never see in enclosures of this price. This goes from small elements like a clip to hold the case cables together for easy connectivity and a push-pin PCB to allow for easy separation of the front cover and its ARGB element to the fact that the chassis has its own dedicated LED button without sacrificing the reset functionality. On top of that, there are plenty of Velcro strips, grommets on major routing holes and a dedicated opening to wire your PCIe cables through the shroud. And, Montech further pushes the envelope by including a real USB-C port in the IO and a clean, hinged glass panel. All things essentially unheard of for a chassis of this price range.
There is really very little to complain about in general - especially considering the price. In other words, the Montech Sky One Lite is probably one of the best budget cases you can get your hands on at this time.
