Value and Conclusion

  • The MP4Nation Brainwavz HM9s sell for $149 online!
  • Extensive bundle
  • Great-performing soft flat cables
  • Durable
  • Price/Performance ratio at pre-order price
  • Bass
  • Cosy warm sound signature
  • Weight
  • Clamping force on large heads
  • Price/performance ratio at MSRP
MP4Nation managed to put out a good set of headphones with a really neat bundle, yet its MSRP is simply not that competitively priced compared to other great-performing, mid-end headphones around; but they are interesting at their pre-order price. The general sound signature is bassy and warm, which is great if you listen to a lot of modern music. They do not excel in anything, but are a good compromise between many things and are definitely a good purchase for anyone looking for a set of headphones to use on the go; that is, if their size and weight are no concern. The HM9s can be driven to their limits by just about any portable source out there, which makes them a good choice for use on the go.

The build quality is a bit crude, but ultimately very durable, which is alright for a set of portable headphones.
