Overclocking

CPU Overclocking is simply non-existent for the MSI MAG B660M Mortar WiFi DDR4. For example, the CPU multiplier cannot exceed the SKU Turbo. The i9-12900K has the 52X multiplier limiting the frequency to 5.2 GHz. That is in theory for most users. However, the CPU voltage option only allows for an "adaptive offset" of +.05 V. When taking this route, the voltage is actually lower than the default auto and causes instant restarts while using stress testing application like Cinebench R20.

Overclocking in software like Intel Extreme Tuning or MSI's own utility does not allow us to bypass the voltage lock-out or raise the multiplier above the Turbo. As it stands, you cannot overclock a CPU at all using this motherboard.

Memory Overclock

MSI completely underrates this motherboard for supported memory configurations. The QVL stops at DDR4-4000 for dual and single rank, yet I had no issues enabling X.M.P profiles for 4600 MT/s dual rank and 5000 MT/s for single rank. Even though CPU overclocking is absent, all memory-related features are accounted for.
