Board Software

MSI's Control Center is exactly that, a place for you to control most board functions, including fan control, voltages, clock speeds, and DRAM timings. There's also a monitoring page with a graphical representation of the temperatures and where they are.


MSI's ECO Center let's you disable unused ports in order to save a bit of power, further reducing the board's overall power consumption. Then there's FAST Boot, which will get you directly into the BIOS or enable or disable UEFI FAST Boot support.


MSI's GAMING App should be familiar if you have one of their graphics cards. It allows for some clock adjustments to your GPU and has some other features as well, including an on-screen display of specific items most gamers like to monitor.


The MSI-branded version of Intel's XTU also makes a return, as does the Killer Network Manager, although it has this time been updated to use the new LAN controller.


Live update can download updated driver packages and BIOS updates for both your MSI motherboard and your MSI VGA. It'll scan your system when you click the right buttons to make sure you can keep everything up to date. MSI MCloud, well, it's obvious as this is some cloud-based storage where you could perhaps store your drivers and the BIOS in a safe repository?


On these discs, MSI has their own branded version of CPU-Z and Nahimix, an audio-management software. Nahimic is a bit new to me, but if you are into streaming your gameplay, I know you'll find it useful.


MSI also includes RAMDrive software for those who install high ram densities to make use of such features. There's also special Steelseries software if you have any Steelseries products plugged into your PC. We'll probably see some new co-branded hardware for that soon.


MSI Super Charger offers control over all USB charging capabilities, while XSplit Gamecaster is a popular streaming software MSI supplies as 1-year subscription with version 2 software.
