Exterior

Above each Ethernet port are two LED indicators. The left LED turns on when the device is connected to a port that supports 1 Gbit speeds while the right LED lights up when the supported speeds are lower (10/100 Mbit). These LED indicators will also blink when there is network activity. The administration interface allows you control these LED indicators—completely disabling them is an option.


Right next to the AC receptacle is a Kensington lock. Note that you can install the power cord facing either out- or downward, which helps with routing the power cord regardless of how the switch has been mounted.


At the bottom of the switch is a label with some useful information, including the default IP address of the administration interface and the default login password.
