Nitro Concepts X1000 Gaming Chair Review - Affordable and Very Comfortable

Value & Conclusion »

User Experience

The X1000 is classified as a gaming chair, and as with many other gaining chairs, it also draws on the looks of sports seats. However, its raised edges do not cut down on the usable space, and the carbon-fiber-like stripes and colorful geometrical shapes adorning the upholstery certainly enhance its looks. A solid steel frame is covered in cold-resistant foam, which results in a sturdy yet comfortable sitting experience; unsurprisingly so as the maximum weight limit is 135 kg (297.62 lbs), which means the X1000 has to be sturdy and comfortable even over longer sessions.

What's more, the fabric upholstery is breathable, akin to cozy home furniture. A fabric upholstery will probably also last better than a PU upholstery. However, usage and maintenance play a major part in whether any upholstery will show signs of wear over time. There are four different color combinations to choose from, with our sample the Radiant White version, so it might need cleaning more often than the others. While fabric is principally breathable, it did feel as though it was accumulating heat. The material composition probably consists of various types of yarns, so synthetic fibers are to blame. However, none of the annoying friction or sweat-related issues some PU upholsteries exhibit occurred.

During cold winter nights, the fabric upholstery will keep you warm. On the other hand, heat may be an issues if your workspace doesn't have climate control but high ambient temperatures. In our lab, where the ambient is at 25 °C, I never felt uncomfortably hot in this chair.

The backrest is suitably high for users below 190 cm (6.23 ft.), and the 125° backrest recline allows for small breaks during intense gaming sessions. What is even more relaxing, and necessary, is the rocking function, which can improve blood flow for more oxygen to the brain. The 3D armrests are easily adjusted and large enough; however, 4D armrests are always a better choice. These armrests are embellished with a carbon-fiber-like strip with the company logo, making for a fine original detail. That said, I would have liked them to be slightly softer. The height-adjustment function works well because of the class-4 gas lift.

The five-star base is made out of durable plastic, yet I believe it will serve its purpose for years to come. A nice detail would have been if the five arms were decorated with accents in the sample's color. The nylon 60 mm casters are covered in soft polyurethane, which has them roll easily but on demand, especially on flat surfaces. A user's weight affects their surface friction, though. Lastly, the chair is covered by a two-year warranty in the EU and a one-year warranty for the rest of the world, which is short for such a product.

The X1000, like the T-1000 cyborg in Terminator, looks like a chair that will last, especially if you take care of its fabric upholstery.
