New vs. Old Models: HERO Series

The HERO series includes the largest chairs the company has launched so far. Even though the ICON series supports the same payload of 150 kg (330.69 lb), the HERO has larger dimensions for larger users.

On the left is the revamped Hero with the hybrid upholstery, and on the right is the original Hero PU model.

The chair's overall appearance imitates those of a sports bucket seat design, yet the base of the seat has no raised edges to confine users. The HERO was designed to be broad, and its volume and minimalist approach make it a fine fit for executive offices as well. Moreover, even though the HERO series is the latest chair model of noblechairs, it, like the rest of the series, has received some modifications.

There are three different types of upholstery to choose from, and all of them come with visible, tangible differences. The stitching pattern is the only part of the chair in a different color, and it is as such a safe option for a gamer looking to purchase a less colorful, but still sportive gaming chair that nicely fits into any environment, offices included. The stitching design is also the most noticeable and obvious difference between the three chair options. The latest HERO with the hybrid upholstery comes with no embellished stitching pattern since its upholstery offers a unique touch-feel.

The metal plate on the backrest is also different with the three HERO models. The HERO models with any of the two PU upholstery types have a black metal plate with the name and logo of the company in gunmetal. However, the color of the logo and company name on the back plate of the real leather model is gold.

Additionally, the chair with the PU vegan upholstery originally had the tilt grip for the backrest and the front button on either armrest covered in black plastic. The real leather model and those with the hybrid upholstery now have a stainless steel metal grip for the backrest tilt and front button for the armrests. The hybrid upholstery chair model also has the steel metal button for the armrests painted in a darker color.

What is more with the HERO series in comparison to the other chairs from noblechairs is the addition of an integrated, adjustable lumbar-support system and the memory foam, which is inside the headrest and makes it the softest headrest we have tried so far. Both features aim to meet the needs of demanding users while maximizing the comfort of larger users.

Two suggestions for their next face-lift, or a new chair design, would be to cover the side bolts on the plastic bits with plastic cups or replace the aluminium ones with dark-painted bolts. We would also prefer the cushioning to be softer since even 90 kg (198.41 lb) users testing it found the new chairs to be a bit hard (but softer than the original series). However, we have used all of these chairs for a long time now, and their cold density foam supports the back well, allowing you to work or play for prolonged periods while keeping the right posture to avoid health-related issues.

Optional Accessories

Optional accessories are always welcome since something might get damaged, or there may be a need for customization. The noblechairs brand offers some separately. A set of five 60 mm casters with an automatic locking function, different types of gas lifts, and footrests in different upholstery types and colors to contribute to a healthier sitting posture and more relaxed sitting experience, for instance. There is also a cleaning/maintenance kit for use with both real and PU leather chairs, which is a must-buy in my opinion, especially if you own a chair with a real leather upholstery.
