A Closer Look at the Backrest

As we have already mentioned, the Hero series addresses large users, which means chairs of the series have broader dimensions than other noblechairs products.

The backrest is 89 cm (35.04") high and 57 cm (22.44") wide; however, it is only 56 cm (22.05") wide at the pelvis level.

The real leather 1.7 mm upholstery on our sample is completely black, and its diamond-stitching pattern in a vigorous red color is perfect. Furthermore, the top grain leather covering the entire chair is breathable and water resistant, which also means it can be cleaned easily. The Hero is reinforced with a steel frame that—along with the dense cold foam core—makes for a sturdy build promising to keep its shape for a very long time.

The headrest uses memory foam and is by far noblechairs' softest headrest we have thus far come across.

A black aluminium plate featuring the noblechairs name and logo has been attached to the middle of the backrest, while a large noblechairs logo adorns the headrest.

The backrest has slightly raised flaps that point outward, while the contoured edges of the lower portion are more pronounced. Since this is supposed to be a gaming chair, it somehow has to follow current trends, which the Hero does with its bucket seat design. However, apart from the aesthetic, the raised edges help maintain a correct upright body posture while seated.

We happened to notice a slight asymmetry to the raised flaps on the upper part of the chair, visible from the rear and front. At 14 cm, the right flap is over a centimeter shorter than the left at 15.4 cm. The upholstery seems to have been twisted slightly during manufacture.

Let's begin with the ergonomic features of the Hero. The backrest's recline can be adjusted through a nickel-plated lever with the noblechairs name on the right side of the seat's base. Adjustability ranges from 90 to 135 degrees, while the maximum tilt for the rocking mechanism is set to 11 degrees.

Under the seat's base is a knob that is used to adjust the tilt's resistance. By turning the knob clockwise, you can tighten or loosen the rocking resistance. On the left side of the chair, under the seat's base, is a lever for the tilt lock/free feature.

The Hero series, both with real leather and PU, is equipped with an integrated, adjustable lumbar-support system that takes comfort a step further when it comes to adjustable ergonomics. A nickel-plated dial at the right side of the backrest can be rotated clockwise to make the lumbar-support system extend or retract. The noblechairs name and logo have been imprinted on the dial.

Two plastic covers alongside of the backrest hide the screws and metal brackets which secure the backrest to the seat's base. However, our eyes were immediately drawn to the screws, which stick out even from a distance and for an instance take away from the chair's fine looks.

A Closer Look at the Seat Base

The seat's base is 52 cm (20.47") wide and has a total depth of 55 cm (21.65 "), of which only 50 cm (19.68") can be used due to the backrest's width. Like the backrest, the seat's base has slightly contoured flaps which only appear to take away from the sitting area as it becomes obvious that the entire area can be used once you sit down.

The height of the Hero is adjustable via a lever on the right side of the chair, under the seat's base, and height-adjustability ranges from 129 to 137 cm (50.78–53.96 ").

In order for the Hero to hold users of up to 150 kg (330 lb), it utilizes a hydraulic class-4 metal gas lift that is also responsible for the chair's height adjustments. Finally, the noblechairs name and logo are engraved into the plastic covers for the base.

The diamond-stitching pattern is a characteristic feature for all noblechairs products, adding to the Hero's elegant looks. The stitching pattern of the real leather Hero is different to the one on the PU upholstery model because It is the same as for the ICON real leather models—even such a small detail can be significant with such an expensive product.

The stitching has no visible knots or loose threads, but we noticed some flaws in other areas. For example, at both sides of the base, we found a dent right behind the armrest. This is probably because of the stretched upholstery. Since creating the real leather upholstery involves handiwork, such blemishes are bound to occur with some samples.

Armrests

The armrests are 4D, which makes them adjustable in height, depth, width, and angle, over three buttons on the sides of each armrest. They are made out of PU, and their padding is soft to the touch. Your arms won't slide around on these armrests as easily as on others since their surface is slightly bumpy. Moreover, the distance between armrests is adjustable, ranging from 66 to 69 cm (25.98–27.16 "), and it can be further adjusted through three bolts under the seat's base.

10.5 cm (4.13 ") wide and 27 cm (10.62 ") deep, the broad armrests fit right in with the Hero's overall large dimensions.

Being very thorough when it comes to checking every part of a gaming chairs for our reviews, we noticed that the left armrest is 1 cm (0.39") lower than the right armrest on our sample. Such a detail may slip past your attention if you aren't actively looking for such flaws as we do.

Five-Star Base and Caster Wheels

The aluminium five-star base is light, robust, and resistant to corrosion and rust. It is black and has a powder-coated finish.

The 60 mm casters are polyurethane coated and have NYLON cores. This combination offers an easy, silent glide on flat surfaces.

Support Cushions

Since the Hero has a lumbar-support system integrated and its headrest is reinforced with memory foam, both cushions are literally optional. They are embroidered with the noblechairs name and logo in red thread and covered with a soft black velour fabric.

The neck-support cushion is the smallest and consists of memory foam; it has straps which secure it around the headrest.

The lumbar-support cushion is made out of a different material; a type of foam. The only disadvantage of this cushion is that it does not have straps—you simply prop it up against the backrest or put it wherever else you would rather have it before sitting down.
