Colorful GeForce iGame RTX 4090 Vulcan OC-V Unboxing
The Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 4090 Vulcan OC-V is the company's premium air-cooled custom-design RTX 4090 graphics card. Its cooler design borrows a core design trait from the Founders Edition, where the shroud takes up a minimum amount of the card's overall volume, and the aluminium fin-stacks that dissipate heat are pushed to the outer edges of the card. It wouldn't be a Colorful iGame model without over-the-top innovations by the company, and this card has plenty up its sleeves.
As with the ROG Strix in the previous page, the Colorful iGame RTX 4090 Vulcan OC-V comes in 2-layer packaging. A glossy paperboard outer cover details the hard-product in rich detail, while a hard cardboard inner package contains the card and its accessories.
As you open the inner hard case, the first foam tray actually has some accessories included with the card. You pull this tray out to find a larger foam insert with the card and a handful of accessories.
You get a lot of stuff with this card: the NVIDIA-designed power adapter that converts four 8-pin PCIe power to one 12+4 pin 12VHPWR; a height-adjustable graphics card reinforcement rod that counteracts PCB bending over time; and the iGame Status Monitor, a high-color 480 x 128-pixel LCD display that can be made to put out real-time monitoring, or just about anything. You also get a microfiber cloth and a pair of anti-static gloves.
The card features a surprisingly clean look for a Colorful iGame product. As we mentioned earlier, its designers took notes from the Founders Edition to keep the sheet metal of the shroud to a bare minimum, and push the heatsink to the edges.
The PCB is two-thirds the length of the card, so air from the third fan flows through the fin-stack and out of a large hole in the backplate, which has been cleverly designed to mimic the arrow-tail design of the Founders Edition. The top of the card has a slot where the iGame Status Monitor display is to be mounted, making contact with the card over hardpoints. You can run the card without it if you want.
Display outputs of the card include three DisplayPorts, and an HDMI. The rear I/O also has a push-type 2-way switch for the card's dual-BIOS setup.
The card is 4 slots thick, and is 33 cm in length. It weighs 2.448 kg.
The card is longer, taller, and thicker than the Founders Edition, though still not as big as the ASUS ROG Strix.
