Introduction

Hearing that several companies were set to release new motherboards just before the Computex show in Taiwan surprised us, particularly since we're far along in the current CPU cycle. One of these companies that stands out as a refreshing and pleasant surprise is NZXT. Of course, the company has had a little help from ASRock, but the design and many features on the board are very much NZXT DNA. Like previous generations, there are both black and white versions to choose from.

It seems like NZXT is a little late to the party, and we'd probably agree. The first batch of 800-series chipset motherboards arrived back in 2024, we're now half-way through 2025 and the company is only just getting its first boards out there. That doesn't leave a particularly long time frame till a new AMD socket arrives, but it's no less than you can expect from Intel at this point either, and nothing is set in stone.



The unique aesthetic design of the N9 X870E is undoubtedly it's main feature, with a large strip of RGB lighting down the I/O shroud. NZXT has listened to feedback from previous generations and focused on cooling, specifically for its M.2 SSD slots, all of which feature large heatsinks. Combined with dual VRM fans, we're hoping for some chart-topping numbers.
