Parrot has managed to combine many good things with the AR.Drone. With the AR.Drone you get the thrill of flying an RC-heli, without the long and expensive learning period. The fact that you can combine video games with RC-piloting just adds to the fun. Learning to fly has never been as easy as with the AR.Drone - if you just remove your fingers the craft simply hovers. Everyone can learn it which makes it a good gadget.
We did not play any games on the AR.Drone, but it seems like it could be good. The video delay is slightly annoying but with practice you should be able to get a good gaming experience out of it.
The way I see it the AR.Drone is a perfect combination of two very good things, RC-flying and gaming. The only big drawback is the price. You pretty much need to have a friend willing to dish out the $299 as well in order to take full advantage of the drone’s capabilities.
