  • People may mistake it for a USB 2.0 drive
Well, the Patriot Supersonic may not turn any heads in regards to its looks. For those not in the know, the drive may be mistaken for a plain, traditional USB 2.0 drive due to its size and shape. But as soon as you realize the unit is intended for the new USB 3.0 interface, one will look at it in a completely different light. For such a quad-channel drive, it is quite compact and sleek. Even with such a positive attribute, Patriot is actually quite conservative as far as its performance is concerned. While 100 MB/s read and 70 MB/s write would be perfectly acceptable, Patriot is selling the drive short. The Supersonic breaks that speed barrier and trumps most other drives out there. In terms of price, the 20 Euro premium for the performance is perfectly acceptable - especially since the drive actually delivers and goes beyond what Patriot promises. Couple that with the excellent USB 2.0 attributes and you have a winner on your hands with the Patriot Supersonic - in every category.
