A Closer Look

The PCCOOLER RZ820 BK has a standard dual-tower design that is symmetrical to a certain degree, however, the front fin-stack has had some fins cut back in order to provide better memory clearance and support. Both fin-stacks are comprised of 44 aluminium fins for heat dissipation and receive that heat via eight heat pipes (4x Ø6 mm and 4x Ø8 mm). It should also be noted the fans come pre-installed and due to their custom nature replacing them will be a hassle.

The cooler is not the largest I have seen but due to its more symmetrical design it can run into compatibility issues, with its overall dimensions being 161 x 150 x 165 mm. Furthermore, the height can increase beyond 165 mm as the front fan has a slide mechanism that allows you to move it upwards for better ram clearance.

The top plate is aluminium and helps keep the visual aesthetic intact with the bottom left corner being equipped with ARGB lighting. It should be noted that the top left logo is also illuminated but PCCOOLER uses orange plastic here meaning there's no control over the color of the logo. As for the heat pipes they are arranged with the center and outside heat pipes being Ø6 mm diameter with the 4x Ø8 mm heatpipes placed in between in pairs of two. As for the nickel-plated base it is slightly convex with some machining marks visible.

When it comes to fans they are custom designs, which means both will be difficult to replace should they fail. The front fan uses a slide mechanism held in by pins which with my man mitts and pliers was not able to get them out without potentially damaging them, so I left them untouched. Meanwhile, the middle fan has rounded edges at the bottom to clear the mounting screws meaning a drop in replacement fan is likely not an option without a little DIY modding work. In terms of RPM the front fan has a PWM range of 500-2200 and the larger middle fan has an PWM RPM range of 400-1500.
