The Megalodon is yet another good product from Razer, but it is only barely worth the Recommended Award in my opinion. Yes the USB Sound card is nifty but it comes at almost the same cost as an X-Fi XtremeMusic sound which is miles ahead in terms of sound quality and features. For the avid gamer on the move this is probably the best USB headset available at this time, but it is still nothing spectacular compared to a set of quality headphones being powered by a mediocre sound card. The virtual 7.1 surround sounds odd in most games, but does prove slightly useable in some games such as GRID with a rather dull sound side, however, it sounds quite unrealistic at all times. In FPS games with good positional effects the 7.1 feature just clouds up the sound and makes you less competitive.
