Introduction

ROCCAT Logo

Established in 2006, ROCCAT is a peripherals company based in Germany. Essentially, the Kone XP is a Kone Pro with more buttons and additional RGB lighting. Whereas the Kone Pro was rather barebones in those regards, the Kone XP is the spiritual successor to the Kone EMP. The Kone XP comes with 13 buttons in total (15 when counting scroll directions), including two extra buttons next to the left mouse button, a set of four side buttons, and a shift button called EasyShift located on the thumb groove. By using the shift button, a total of 29 button functions are available, along with five profiles, which can be used to store additional button mappings on the mouse. Furthermore, the scroll wheel can be tilted to the left and right, allowing for horizontal scrolling. The rich RGB lighting covers eight lighting zones and can be configured within ROCCAT Swarm, which also has all the other important options, such as macro support. ROCCAT's Titan optical switches rated for 100 million clicks are used for the main buttons, which guarantee the lowest possible click latency without ever developing inadvertent double-clicking. PixArt's PAW3370 sensor capable of 19,000 CPI is used, coupled with pure PTFE mouse feet and a particularly flexible, paracord-like cable. The Kone XP is available either in black or white.
