Installation

Installing the Sapphire Nitro+ S240-A is extremely quick and easy. First, on Socket AM4, you will need to remove the plastic AMD brackets and then secure the AMD backplate with the four AM4 standoffs. Now, the cooler does come with thermal paste pre-applied. However, if you have a preferred paste, it's time to clean the copper cold plate and apply it.

Slide the pump over the four standoffs and secure it with the thumbscrews. Then, with the block in place, it's time to secure the radiator.

With the cooler itself ready to go, all that remains is to install the fans on the radiator, route all the cabling, and plug it all in. As expected, the wiring makes for a cable mess with no perfect solution to get a clean look. This is a situation where Sapphire could have saved on cost and made the process easier on the end user with less engineering.

Overall, the installation is simple and straightforward on AMD and Intel. While there were a few extra steps in the Intel installation, there was no difficulty. There were no serious problems or even headaches to deal with other than the cable management.
