The Vertex is a very interesting case designed with HTPC applications in mind. The case is available in three durable powder coating colors which will outlast paint and anodizing found on most cases. Once you manage to get the fingerprints off the shine is amazing. The manufacturer has included almost everything you need to build the Vertex into a usable computer. I found that the front panel, fan, and accessory cabling were all far too long for this small of an enclosure. I did speak to the manufacturer about this and he has informed me that the problem is being assessed and will be taken care of in later batches of the Vertex. The inside of the case is a bit cramped like most HTPC style cases which will limit what hardware you can utilize for your build. However, after relocating the hard drive I managed to fit a Xigmatek Dark Knight with fan inside with room to spare. You will need to purchase a slim (laptop) optical drive, which costs a bit more than a standard desktop version.
With an MSRP starting at US $325, the case is not for a low budget build but more geared for enthusiasts who want something unique. The build quality of the Vertex is impressive, sturdy, and makes for a solid build once fully assembled. Since the Vertex is costly to produce it is being offered as a limited edition model. Overall I really like the Vertex and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something new and unique to house their computer in.
